Meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Co-operative Council

2010-12-12 |
The Counter-Terrorism Co-operative Council met today following the events which took place in the centre of Stockholm yesterday.
At the meeting, the Swedish Security Service gave an update about the ongoing investigation and the assessment of the threat level.

The incident itself indicates that a single perpetrator is responsible. That may, however, change during the course of the investigation.

At the meeting, the other agencies also presented assessments of their areas of responsibility.

The agencies are cooperating very well and in accordance with established routines.

The Swedish Security Service assesses that the current threat level remains.

The agencies that are part of the Counter-Terrorism Co-operative Council are now taking measures in their respective areas of responsibility, for example to increase safety.

This may include increased police visibility and an increase in the information provided to the public.

Further information about the investigation will be provided at a press conference tomorrow.

The Swedish Security Service will send out an invitation later this evening with details about the time and location of the press conference.
