Threat level remains unchanged
On 1 October 2010, Anders Danielsson made the decision to change the threat level for Sweden.
- The threat level to Sweden has remained unchanged since it was raised by one step, from low to elevated, last October, says Anders Danielsson.
New threat assessments are produced on a regular basis and may lead to changes in the threat level.
Current activities
The Service continues to monitor the developments in Norway very closely. At this point in time, we are focusing specifically on threat assessments and the threat level for Sweden, and we are also seeking to establish whether there are any potential links to any actors in Sweden. While the Service is providing other public agencies with information, we are also in the process of determining how we can assist the Norwegian service in the best way possible.
We are treating the attacks in Norway as a so-called special event. This means that our work now follows a set routine, involving key functions from across the Service who are working closely together to gather, process and analyse the information. The Service also has an extended authority to make decisions, second staff and require other resources.
