Terrorism

- countering terrorism is the responsibility of the Security Service
The Swedish Security Service is responsible for countering terrorism in Sweden. This means that we work to prevent attacks in Sweden or against Swedish interests. This includes trying to prevent terrorist attacks from being planned in Sweden or supported from here. Terrorists must not be able to raise money for terrorism or hide here; nor must they be able to use Sweden as a base for recruitment or logistic support.
Should a terrorist attack occur in Sweden, the Security Service is responsible for the investigation of the crime. As with other police investigations, such an investigation will be led by a prosecutor.

The Security Service also takes part in the international cooperation against terrorism and assists other countries in their preventive work and their investigations.
